The Scribe Series / Time

ChronicleScribe

Create beautiful historical timelines.

PlannedFree

A planned, completely free Wickham Forge tool for making clear, attractive historical timelines and chronologies.

ChronicleScribe will focus on helping people understand and present when things happened, from a classroom sequence to a local-history account.

The fourth Scribe

Give history a sense of time.

Place. Identity. People. Time.

Maps locate a story, heraldry expresses identity and family histories connect people. ChronicleScribe is intended to bring chronological understanding into that family of tools.

Its purpose is practical: make timelines people can read, teach with, include in reports, print and share digitally. It is planned as a free educational tool, not a commercial add-on.

Planned direction

A useful chronology, thoughtfully presented.

Events and periods

The proposed workspace would organise dated events and broader historical periods into a clear sequence.

Context and themes

Labels, explanatory text and categories or themes could help readers follow parallel stories.

Layout for sharing

Visual layout choices and print-friendly output are intended to make timelines useful in documents, classrooms and digital presentations.

Who it is intended for

A timeline anyone can use.

For students, teachers, historians, local historians and history enthusiasts who want to explain a sequence of events clearly and attractively.

Development status

Planned

ChronicleScribe has not been built yet. The scope and interface are still being developed; the directions above are intentions, not available features. It is intended to be completely free.
